Why Gophers receiver Chris Autman-Bell played just one snap against Nebraska

Published Thu, 06 Mar 2025 04:02:36 GMT

When the Gophers offense took the field Thursday in the season opener against Nebraska, Chris Autman-Bell lined up at wide receiver for the first play, completing a comeback from a torn anterior cruciate ligament last September. It was one and done. The seventh-year senior exited the game after that one snap and didn’t play again in Minnesota’s 13-10 victory at Huntington Bank Stadium.“It was based on how he felt,” Fleck told the Pioneer Press on Monday. “It’s all based on how he feels. We are going to listen to our players; we always do. We will listen to our trainers. And those two have to be in line.”Fleck said Autman-Bell is still dealing with the recovery from that knee injury, but “we are closer and closer every minute.”Without Autman-Bell, Daniel Jackson led the way with nine receptions on 16 targets for 68 yards and the stunning, toe-drag touchdown catch with 2:32 remaining in the game.Fellow receiver Corey Crooms Jr. had a big debut for the U. SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (NEWS10) - Mourners with Saratoga Black Lives Matter gathered at Congress Park to remember the life of Darryl Mount, 10 years later.  BLM activists planned to hold a memorial for Mount this past Sunday. Tens of thousands of partygoers stranded at the Burning Man counterculture festival by a late summer storm hoped muddy roads would reopen Monday and allow them to begin their exodus from the northern Nevada desert.Event organizers said in the morning that it was still too wet for a safe mass departure of RVs and other vehicles but hoped traffic could begin flowing later in the day with the help of sunny and mostly clear skies — even as they asked revelers to delay their exit to ease traffic on the main road.Organizers also asked attendees not to walk out of the Black Rock Desert about 110 miles (177 kilometers) north of Reno as others had done throughout the weekend, including celebrity DJ Diplo and comedian Chris Rock. They didn't specify why.The festival was closed to vehicles after more than a half-inch (1.3 centimeters) of rain fell on Friday. The road closures came just before “the Man” was to be set ablaze Saturday night. The event traditionally culminates in the tor...
