Miami-Dade Commissioners voted in favor of withdrawing the lease agreement on the controversial water park project on Tuesday after being delayed in September.Now the county said it will move forward with rescinding the developer’s lease, essentially killing the projectConservationists like Ron Magill and others have been opposed to this project for months, even years, as they are worried about the impact of this project on the shrinking Pine Rocklands ecosystem in the area and the endangered species that live there.Prior to this vote, the developers of the project had taken an economic angle to their pitch, saying it would be environmentally friendly and will only be built on the zoo’s existing paved parking lot.However, a judge’s recent ruling on Monday and a letter from the U.S Department of Interior disagreed with the developer. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue units responded to the scene where a 13-year-old reportedly jumped into a canal in Northwest Miami-Dade. Authorities arrived at the scene, located in the vicinity of 181 NW 85th Street, around 4 p.m., Tuesday.7Skyforce hovered over the scene, where divers could be seen pulling the teen from the canal.The teen’s condition is unknown at this time. Reports of a bomb threat at a South Florida school prompted a swift response by law enforcement. Davie Police arrived at NSU University School, located at 3375 SW 75th Ave, Tuesday afternoon. 7Skyforce hovered over the scene where students and staff were evacuated from the school. Dave Fire Rescue also arrived at the scene. A command post was established by police as they continue to investigate the situation. No injuries were reported. Chante Adams, the daughter of Donna Allen, a 59-year-old South Florida woman who passed away during the tornadoes that struck Tennessee last weekend, can’t believe her mother’s gone. “Brandon, I’m so hurt…everyone loved her,” said Adams. Allen was visiting her son in Clarksville, Tennessee when a tornado hit their home, leaving the home in splinters and killing Allen.“The whole house is gone. The pictures that he sent from up there, it was nothing. It was like bombs were dropped on the neighborhood,” said Adams. Adams said her brother did all he could to save their mother but the storm was too strong. “He tried all he can to save her but it was just so much going on. He said she was scared. A crash first reported around 1:30 p.m. in Andover continued to snarl traffic during the evening commute, after a tractor-trailer truck ended up on its side, closing a ramp between I-495 and I-93.The MassDOT said crews were working to remove the truck around 4 p.m. after the crash occurred on I-495 southbound at Exit 97A.As a result of the crash, the ramps between I-495 south to I-93 south were closed, leading to significant backups, with backup times ranging from 45 minutes to an hour for some.Details on the condition of the driver have not yet been released.https://twitter.com/MassDOT/status/1734686272957141413Salem police investigating after three-year-old boy wanders away from local daycare

An investigation is continuing this week after Salem police said a three-year-old boy wandered away from a local daycare. Salem police in a statement said officers responded late last Friday morning after a US Postal Service employee reported finding the child walking along in the area of Palmer Street. Police said the child was wearing a long sleeved shirt, sweatpants and only socks on his feet. The postal worker, police said, “kept him safe” and called police.Salem police said medical crews responded to the scene and later took the child to a hospital for evaluation as a precaution. While crews remained on scene, Salem police said officers “were approached by staff from the Salem Community Childcare Inc.” who said they were looking for a child who had been in their care. An attorney for Brian Walshe is seeking to withdraw from the case. Walshe has been charged with first degree murder, as well as misleading a police investigation in connection with the death of his wife, Ana. He was first arraigned in the case in January. In an update Tuesday, the Norfolk District Attorney’s office confirmed Brian’s attorney now wants off the case.Ana Walshe was last seen on Jan. 1 following a New Year’s Eve dinner at the Cohasset home she shared with Brian. In court, prosecutors have said Brian allegedly killed Ana, dismembered her and disposed of her body.
