JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - It's beginning to look a lot like the holidays in Missouri's capital city, after a crane moved a 30-foot tree into the governor's mansion. For 30 years, the Missouri Department of Conservation has been asking Missourians to donate evergreen trees between 30 and 40 feet tall to be decorated on the lawn of the Missouri Governor's Mansion. The Richardson family said they were happy to donate their Norway spruce because the tree was at the end of its lifespan due to recent droughts."We thought what a perfect way for it to go out," Sherry Richardson said. "I'm still in awe. I can't believe they picked my tree."High in the sky On Monday morning, a Christmas tree was flying through the air in Jefferson City."It always amazes me that they can lift it up by crane over onto the lawn," Missouri Department of Conservation Natural Resources Communication Specialist Jolly Dentner said. Upon Further Review: Broncos’ defensive line steps up in big way against Browns

In trench warfare against the Cleveland Browns on Sunday afternoon, the Broncos’ defensive line had the advantage. The Broncos were well ahead, holding a 27-12 lead late in the fourth quarter, but defensive end Zach Allen wanted to add one more exclamation point. With the Browns facing a third-and-10 at their 5-yard line, Allen bulldozed past two offensive linemen before teaming up with outside linebacker Nik Bonitto to sack quarterback P.J. Walker in the end zone for a safety.Heading into the season, Denver’s defensive line was one of the biggest question marks on the team. In the Broncos’ 29-12 win over the Browns, the unit stepped up, producing two of the team’s three takeaways while repeatedly disrupting Cleveland’s solid offensive line.“It’s hard to have success if your guys up front on both sides of the ball — the trenches as we like to say — are not at least neutralizing or playing up to the level of your opponent,” head coach Sean Payton said. “I think we’ve...

And yes, home prices are one of the main reasons why.But for every multi-million-dollar home in affluent coastal communities like San Francisco, San Diego, Orange County or the Central Coast, you'll find thousands that are more affordable elsewhere in the state.  Of California's 58 counties, 11 have median single-family home prices above $1 million, according to the latest sales data from the California Association of Realtors. Twenty-five counties, however, still have median home prices under $500,000 and, in some cases, well below that. Home prices starting to fall in parts of Southern California The far northern part of the state has the most affordable homes with a median price of $376,000, based on sales from October. Irvine could become the latest California city to ban single-use plastics, including water bottles, bags, straws and even mylar balloons. The Irvine City Council is set to hold public comment and vote on the proposed ordinance Tuesday night. The ban, which would take effect next year, is similar to those already enacted by dozens of California cities and counties and follows a state law requiring non-compostable, single-use items be reduced substantially over the coming years.Irvine’s ordinance would “expressly ban the use of expanded polystyrene and plastic containers” used in food service and retail. This would cover non-reusable bags, take-out containers and utensils. It would also prohibit the sale of mylar and latex balloons. Paper or plastic?
