BERLIN (AP) — Second-ranked Aryna Sabalenka and seventh-ranked Coco Gauff had upset losses to Russian players in the second round of the Berlin Open on Thursday.Sabalenka, the Australian Open champion from Belarus, was beaten 6-2, 7-6 (2) by Veronika Kudermetova despite improving after an error-strewn start. Gauff lost 6-4, 6-0 to Ekaterina Alexandrova.“For me it’s very important to play like that today,” Kudermetova said. “I always believe in myself. DENVER (KDVR) — Concertgoers were pelted by hail Wednesday night at Red Rocks Amphitheatre as severe thunderstorms moved across Colorado.An estimated 80-90 people were treated for injuries at the venue, some of whom called 911 for their injuries, according to West Metro Fire Rescue. Seven people were hospitalized. Injuries included cuts and broken bones. An Aventura Police officer who was arrested on multiple charges stemming from an incident in Pompano Beach appeared in court. Thirty-year-old David Esteban Delgado faces two counts of kidnapping, two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and two counts of being armed while engaged in a criminal offense and one count of battery.During his court appearance on Thursday, Delgado claimed that his wife’s cellphone was stolen and used tracking technology from the phone to pinpoint a location. He then began to follow a vehicle, initiated a stop and confronted two men who he allegedly unlawfully detained at gunpoint.
