AUSTIN (KXAN) — The total solar eclipse will be visible for millions of Texas in April, but which areas will be in the dark for the longest?KXAN has created a map, using data from Eclipse2024.org to show where 'totality' will be the longest in various Texas cities. Hotels in some cities are already fully booked.Here's a look at where totality will last the longest. The darker the color on the map, the longer totality will last in that city. If a city does not appear on the map, it will not see a total solar eclipse. The free show dates to 1976 and except for a few cancellations due to weather and the pandemic, they’ve happened every summer. But this year the event is canceled for yet another reason. "Everybody seems to be happy to come down." OAKLAND — A woman was shot Monday morning in East Oakland, authorities said.She was initially listed in critical condition at a hospital.The shooting was reported about 11:57 a.m. Monday on Nicol Avenue just east of Fruitvale Avenue. It was not immediately known if the victim lived in the area.A motive for the shooting was under investigation.
