Oakland police identify man who was recently shot and killed in front of his wife OAKLAND — Police here have identified a 46-year-old man who was shot and killed outside of a local gas station, in front of his wife.Andre Stevenson, of Oakland, was shot and killed by an unknown assailant at around 8:15 p.m. July 27, on the 9800 block of Edes Avenue, near a 76 Gas station.Police have not announced any arrests, nor publicly revealed a suspected motive. They say, though, that Stevenson appeared to be targeted.Stevenson had just purchased something at the convenience store and was walking back to his Chrysler 300 when at least one person pulled alongside him in another car and opened fire, authorities said. Police impounded the Chrysler after arriving at the scene.The fatal shooting was one of two reported homicides that occurred on July 27.
