DETROIT — The “tush push” offensive play has taken football by storm this season, but the Gophers put a hipster variation on that trend during the Quick Lane Bowl on Tuesday.Instead of teammates pushing quarterback Cole Kramer on a short-yardage plunge, Minnesota ran a play-action pass with tight end Jameson Geers faking the push and being left wide open for Kramer to find for a 7-yard touchdown completion.Minnesota had fed Bowling Green a steady diet of 19 runs in the opening 21 plays to start the third quarter, which perfectly set up the crafty wrinkle from offensive coordinator Greg Harbaugh. The Gophers continue to pound the ball on ground, with 255 total rushing yards, in a 30-24 victory over Bowling Green at Ford Field.Running back Darius Taylor, a Detroit native, rushed 35 times for 208 yards and one touchdown and was named bowl MVP. The true freshman came back from injury to put up the third highest rushing yardage and carries totals in Gophers bowl history. The Gophers (6-7) ...St. Paul Christmas Eve crash: Police ID 65-year-old pedestrian and his dog, who were both killed

The owner of the Aspen Snowmass resorts is complaining about a high-end fashion company that keeps sending so-called “influencers” to its ski areas to be photographed in pricey attire.Aspen Skiing Co. filed a lawsuit Wednesday that accuses Perfect Moment, a London-based skiwear maker, of trademark infringement, among other allegations. The dispute began in March 2021, when Perfect Moment posted photos of female influencers modeling its skiwear on Instagram and other social media sites. He was eligible to return Sunday against New England, but Denver used a one-game roster exemption to buy more time and then waived him Monday rather than making a roster move to create a spot for him.The Broncos likely would have signed him to their practice squad had he cleared waivers, but now he’ll head to the Texans’ 53-man roster.Jackson had played the past four seasons for the Broncos but spent the first nine years of his career in Houston. If you're on social media threatening the lives of people, you shouldn't have a gun," said the bill's author, State Sen. Anthony Portantino (D-Burbank).The law was supposed to take effect on January 1, but was blocked by a U.S. District Judge, meaning the law will make its way to federal court and likely the US Supreme Cour...Latest news
