Ron Rivera had a different tone as he sat down for his pre-camp news conference on Tuesday. The ownership situation is settled and now it’s only about football and the Washington Commanders’ head coach is ready for the first practice of training camp Wednesday morning.“I think it’s pretty exciting,” Rivera said. “You can already feel the impact. A lot of it has to do with the reaction from the fan base. I think our guys have also felt it. The guys are getting into this. It’s a unique feeling. It’s exciting. I’m fired up about the opportunity as we go forward.”For the first time since he’s been head coach of this team, Rivera finally has a chance to just focus on the field and not answer questions about the dysfunction off of it.“The last few years, I honestly felt more like a manager — trying to manage things and stuff like that and try to keep everybody on task and on focus in terms of the game,” he said....Bayern Munich confirms initial talks around reported Sadio Mané move to Saudi Arabia

TOKYO (AP) — Bayern Munich’s president confirmed Wednesday that the club is aware of “initial talks” around a reported move for forward Sadio Mané from the German champion to Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr, where he could team up with Cristiano Ronaldo. “FC Bayern is informed about this,” club president Herbert Hainer said in Japan during a pre-season tour, in quotes reported by German news agency dpa. “But these are initial talks, you have to wait and see.”His comments followed a report in German tabloid newspaper Bild that an adviser to Mané would meet representatives of Al-Nassr to discuss a possible deal. A Premier League and Champions League winner with Liverpool, Mané would be the latest in a series of big-name players in Saudi clubs’ signing spree.Mané has two years left on his contract with Bayern after a disappointing and injury-hit first season since joining from Liverpool last year. The Senegal forward scored 12 times in 38 games for Bayern, but only one of those...Bumps in the road to safer streets in Montgomery County

From “walking school buses” to better sidewalk upkeep, Montgomery County, Maryland’s Pedestrian Master Plan has more than 100 recommendations with the goal of making it safer and more pleasant for those on foot or bike to get where they’re going. On Tuesday, residents got their chance to tell the county council what they think of the plan.Adam Carlesco, who lives in the Wheaton area and doesn’t own a car, spoke in favor of the plan. BRISBANE, Australia (AP) — The Indigenous Football Australia Council has urged FIFA to address what it calls an “egregious omission” of First Nations-led organizations in a Women’s World Cup legacy plan. Former Sydney Swans Australian rules football star Adam Goodes and John Moriarty, the first Indigenous player selected for Australia’s national soccer team, were among the signatories to a letter sent to soccer’s world governing body regarding legacy funding from the 2023 World Cup. Football Australia’s Legacy ’23 strategy aims to deliver economic, social and health benefits and multicultural inclusion following its co-hosting of the global tournament with New Zealand. But the IFA Council said while the legacy report report acknowledged First Nations contributors, it didn’t commit specific funding for programs that are led and managed by Indigenous people.“Despite ubiquitous Indigenous culture, symbolism, traditional ceremonies and installations at the World Cup and the holdin...At least 3 hospitalized following crash on I-95 in Oakland Park
