Both rental costs and homeownership costs in Colorado are some of the nation's most expensive, matching only coastal markets. As of March 2023, the median sales price for a Denver area single family detached home was $620,000, requiring a top-tier income to afford both down payment and monthly mortgage payments. Colorado homes are getting smaller and more expensive Renters have a such a large bridge to cross in much of Colorado that a majority will never be able to buy a home, according to an analysis by moving firm HireAHelper. Financial adviser SmartAsset crunched tax filings and income data to see in which states do filers write off the most in their annual returns. Coastal states and certain states in the Mountain West have as many as twice as many tax returns with itemized deductions than interior states. ‘It is unbearable’: This is the smelliest place in Denver, according to complaints The study ranks three items - how many tax returns contain write offs, the average deduction's dollar amount and the percentage of income the itemized deductions equal. Teen arrested after trying to break into vehicles in SW Miami-Dade neighborhood Miami-Dade Police officers were in the area of 152nd Street and 107th Avenue after two teens were caught trying to steal an unmarked police vehicle. According to police, one person was arrested as they continued to search for another suspect in the area. Around 3 a.m., two teens were attempting to break into an unmarked police car, but when they failed to do so, they moved on to another car nearby which they successfully broke into and sat inside. As the crime unfolded, a neighbor’s Ring camera captured the criminal activity and notified the off-duty police officer nearby. When the officer went outside to investigate, he saw the teenagers attempting to steal the car and both suspects ran in opposite directions. The officer shortly caught up with the 18-year-old suspect as he called for backup. Live video footage showed several police cars on the streets of the surrounding area.
