ST. LOUIS – As the war between Israel and Hamas rages on, St. Louisans again showed their support for the Jewish community on Sunday.Dozens of people gathered near Forest Park to hold a solidarity rally and silent prayer to pay tribute to the innocent people who have lost their lives. The group drew looks and honks along Skinker Boulevard as people of Christian, Jewish, and other faiths stood in solidarity.Karen Sher, vice president of community impact for the Jewish Federation of St. Louis, said it’s bigger than supporting Israel.“This is not just about the Jewish community. This is about humanity,” Sher said.Other demonstrators agreed.“This is not a protest against Palestinians,” Tami Flick said. “We love Palestinians. We pray for Jews, Palestinians. We pray for the peace of Jerusalem.”Dozens of people attended the rally, which Civil Righteousness and the Jewish Federation hosted in front of the former United Hebrew Congregation Synagogue late on Sunday afternoon. Their mission wa...St. Louis County Council deadlocks on Bi-State, Metro funding

CLAYTON, Mo. – In a stunning move, the St. Louis County Council has deadlocked on funding for the area’s transit operator, the Bi-State Development Agency. The agency had requested $128.5 million in funding to run Metro bus, light rail, and other transportation services. The vote was 3-3 and split along party lines, with Democrats voting in favor and Republicans opposed to the measure.“Well, it was quite a surprise to me. To be honest with you, I did not know that there was some problems with the budget or that some of the members had some challenges with the budgets. I didn’t know that. So, when it failed on a 3-3 vote, I was very surprised,” Councilwoman Rita Heard Days said. Close Thanks for signing up! Watch for us in your inbox. Yippee! America’s most dysfunctional family this side of the Simpsons managed to win a must-lose NFL game.Aww, the Denver Broncos. They can’t even tank correctly.Say goodbye to the No. 1 pick in the NFL draft and any real shot of landing USC quarterback Caleb Williams. On this Sunday, cruddy, Sunday, the Broncos blew a 13-point lead in the second half, then rallied to beat Green Bay 19-17.Despite trying his best to become the first coach in the 64-year history of the franchise to start his career 0-4 at home, Sean Payton’s team prevailed in the end. Not that it made him happy.“I was a little happier before I came in here,” Payton told the assembled media wretches during his postgame news conference.Funny you should mention that, Coach. The mood in any room is usually a lot brighter before Payton enters, dragging that doom-and-gloom cloud on a leash behind him.For Broncomaniacs old enough to remember the 1970s, when the streak of selling out home games in Denver began and Quaker Oats ...Keeler: Broncos Country says “no tanks” to tanking for Caleb Williams after 19-17 win over Green Bay: “It’s almost offensive to me as a fan of the Broncos”

Every seventh head in Section 501 looked as if it belonged in a mousetrap, not a mile high. Jeremy Marty waved an Orange & Blue arm at the invasion of Cheeseheads below us Sunday at Empower Field and shook his head.“I don’t want to tank,” Marty, a Broncos lifer here from Nashville, told me during the third quarter of Denver 19, Green Bay 17, Aesthetics 0. “I believed in this team at the beginning of the year. And my blood runs deep for the Broncos.“So to go and even think for a second that they would go and tank at all is almost offensive to me as a fan of the Broncos — even as much as what we’re seeing with these yellow-and-green jerseys. Actually, it pains me to see this. So I would say absolutely not.”Denver celebrated Week 7 by moving to 2-0 vs. the NFC North and 0-5 vs. everybody else. The eye test tells us the Packers and Bears aren’t in the same weight class as the Eagles and Dolphins, let alone the same zip code. But a gift...Broncos WR Courtland Sutton turns into third-down weapon in win over Packers

The Broncos hoped the Green Bay Packers would show man coverage. Facing a third-and-4 with 6:22 to go in the third quarter, head coach Sean Payton had the perfect play drawn up for wide receiver Courtland Sutton. They only needed the right defensive look from the Packers. They got it.Sutton motioned left, causing cornerback Rasul Douglas to run into tight end Adam Trautman and safety Jonathan Owens. Douglas tried to chase down Sutton, but the veteran wideout, who has been the subject of trade rumors since the offseason, had more than enough separation to make an easy 18-yard touchdown catch to give the Broncos a 16-3 lead.“That was great coaching,” quarterback Russell Wilson said. “We wanted to get (Sutton) isolated, and (he) did a great job getting open.”In Denver’s 19-17 win over the Packers on Sunday, the team’s first victory at Empower Field at Mile High this season, Sutton was a bright spot on offense, finishing with six catches for 76 yards. But his efforts on third down had a ...Pro-Israel march, vigil held in Los Angeles; local attack victim mourned
