By Cindy Von Quednow | CNNA 10-year-old California boy who was arrested after allegedly fatally shooting another boy with a stolen gun he’d found in his father’s car will not be charged, the Sacramento District Attorney’s Office told CNN in a statement Thursday.His father, Arkete Davis, 53, appeared in court and was charged Wednesday with criminal storage of a firearm, two counts of child endangerment and felon in possession of a firearm, among other charges, according to the DA’s office.“Based on the facts currently known, the sole criminal liability and responsibility for the child’s death (lies) exclusively with this Defendant,” the DA’s office stated.Authorities said Davis was legally prohibited from possessing or owning a gun, and the recovered firearm had been reported stolen in 2017, CNN previously reported.Davis’ son was being held in the Sacramento County Youth Detention Facility. (KRON) -- The National Weather Service has issued a Beach Hazards Statement for Friday from 6 a.m. until 10 p.m. The warning is for the coastal North Bay, San Francisco Peninsula coast, Monterey Bay and Big Sur coasts. The NWS forecasts an increased risk of sneaker waves up to 10 feet and breaking waves. (BCN) -- A Lockwood resident in Monterey County was convicted of forcible lewd acts on a child under 14, prosecutors said Thursday. Michael Paulsen, 62, pleaded guilty in December to three counts of forcible lewd acts upon a child who he was related to, according to prosecutors. Three men charged in Tuan Le murder case Paulsen began sexually assaulting a child under the age of 14 in 1995 and did so "for years," according to prosecutors. He would commit the crimes when no one else was present and often in a vehicle where he could ensure that the girl could not escape. The victim came forward as an adult with their accusations and Paulsen admitted to them with detectives from the Monterey County Sheriff's Office. He was arrested in December 2022. The three criminal counts against Paulsen all count as "strikes" under the state's Three Strikes Law, which can increase mandatory prison sentences for people convicted of violent or serious felonies. DENVER (KDVR) -- United Airlines is hoping to build a new flight training center off Pena Boulevard near Denver International Airport, but the project is still in early steps.A pre-application plan was received by the city of Denver on Dec. 22, according to a city spokesperson, but has not been reviewed yet. But if all goes according to United's plans, the campus will be operational by Fall 2027.
