CHICAGO — A recent tradition continued for the Cubs on Thursday as another former member of the team made his way back to Wrigley Field.This time, it was Jason Heyward who was able to get his due from fans after his time with the team came to an end. CHICAGO — Charges have been filed against a South Chicago man accused of stabbing a 47-year-old so many times that it caused critical injuries, police said Friday.The incident occurred on March 31 in the 9000 block of S. (NEXSTAR) – Police in Pennsylvania are warning grocery shoppers to check their purchases for needles after a teenage employee was accused of tampering with multiple food items earlier this week.The juvenile employee is now facing charges, the Pennsylvania State Police say. AUSTIN (KXAN) — Lago Vista police were dispatched to the 3200 block of Burnside Circle Monday after a man’s Facebook posts threatening Lago Vista ISD teachers were reported.LVPD said at the time of the threat, 56-year-old David Lee Kneblick had access to two handguns, both of which were loaded to capacity, according to court documents.An arrest affidavit said Kneblick made three separate threatening posts to the social medial platform. Austin police are looking for James Joseph Moran. A Rosemount woman has been sentenced to nearly four years in prison for stabbing her daughter’s father in the neck during a custody dispute.Lisa Dawn Oliver (Courtesy of Dakota County sheriff’s office)Lisa Dawn Oliver, 45, stabbed the man outside his Apple Valley home on Oct. 23, leaving him with a deep wound near his jugular vein, prosecutors said. She was sentenced Wednesday.According to the criminal complaint, officers responded just before 9 p.m. and found the man with a neck wound that appeared to be deep and 2½ inches in length. Since he was young, Rick Simon was intrigued by stories of sunken submarines in Long Island Sound that were still down there. This week, Simon became part of one of those stories.Simon and friends took out his boat — RV Integrity, based in Noank — on Sunday and found Defender, an experimental 93-foot watercraft built in 1907 by sub pioneer Simon Lake.It was found about 180 feet below the surface, he said. “You could say Defender was hiding in plain sight all this time in a waterway I’ve traveled for years,” Simon said.Simon, of Coventry, Connecticut, co-owns Shoreline Diving Services, which does underwater surveys, dam inspections, bridge and dam repairs and ship husbandry.
